On our Bookshelf

Christian Allaire, raised on the Nipissing First Nation reserve, discovered his passion for fashion through traditional Ojibwe regalia and later through high-fashion media. He pursued journalism to become a fashion writer, eventually working in New York City’s fashion scene. In his memoir From the Rez to the Runway, Allaire candidly explores the challenges of breaking into a glamorous but exclusive industry while staying true to his Indigenous identity.
