Awards news from Canada and around the world

Winners of the BC and Yukon Book Prizes Announced!

The BC and Yukon Book Prizes, established in 1985, celebrate the achievements of British Columbia writers and publishers. The 2020 winners were recently announced at an online gala presentation.

The Ethel Wilson Fiction Prize went to Lampedusa by Steven Price, which was also longlisted for the 2019 Scotiabank Giller Award.

The Dorothy Livesay Poetry Prize was awarded to How she read by Chantal Gibson.

The Shiela E. Egoff Children's Literature Prize went to Robin Stevenson for My body, my choice. 

The Christie Harris Illustrated Children's Literature Prize went to It began with a page by Kyo Maclear.
