Implementing CELA Service: Manitoba Public Libraries

Welcome to CELA!

We are so pleased to welcome Manitoba public libraries to the CELA family.  The Manitoba government has fully funded CELA service through all public libraries in the province. All Manitobans who cannot read print due to a visual, learning or physical disability will now have access to CELA’s comprehensive accessible collection of more than 1 million titles in French and English, including the best of Canadian literature, award winners, bestsellers, books for kids and teens, plus 45 national and international newspapers and 150 popular magazines.

Training

We’ve joined CELA, now what?  Learn from other Manitoba Libraries to get CELA off to a great start

We invite you to listen to Jen Kendall from Portage la Prairie Regional Library, Carolyn Minor and Paula Harrison from Winnipeg Public Library as they discuss how they offer CELA reading materials to their patrons with print disabilities.

This was a one-hour online chat where Manitoba library staff had the opportunity to ask other Manitoba libraries about their experience with CELA and to share ideas. Two sessions were offered, and both recordings are available below:
