Update: Our planned pause will now begin on October 23 instead of October 19. We still anticipate this process will require approximately 2 - 3 weeks for relocation, machine reassembly, and testing.

CELA has planned a temporary pause for braille production and delivery beginning October 19 while our braille services are being relocated and the machines which produce our embossed braille are being moved. We anticipate this process will require approximately 2 - 3 weeks for relocation, machine reassembly, and testing.

During this period production and distribution of both embossed braille and printbraille will be put on hold. These services will resume once the machines are available.

All other formats including electronic braille and reloading of Envoy Connects will be available during this period.

You can check here for updates or watch the What’s New section of our website.

We are also pleased to announce that we have new printbraille bags. The new, updated bags are blue and will now have the CELA logo. While the look of the bags is changing slightly, the process of using them remains the same. You will return the bags in the same way you always have, by flipping the label in the pocket over and returning the bags to the nearest mailbox or post office. You can use any existing bags you currently have to send us printbraille books you have finished. They will still get to us safely. If you need a replacement bag, or have any questions, you can get in touch with our Contact Centre.
