Summary
This is the complete edition of the hymnal of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) as published in 2006 and updated to 2019. It contains the complete set of 150 Psalms in the NRSV edition, communion and certain other… services, Service music texts, and the Texts of all the hymns. This Bookshare edition is the complete text of the large print edition which contains no music notation and therefore was especially adaptable to a Bookshare file. In addition, it is fully marked up for DAISY navigation. At Level 1 you can navigate to the communion services, the Service music, The Psalms, The Hymns and the indexes. At Level 2 you can navigate from psalm to psalm and hymn to hymn. Or you can type hymn and its number or psalm and its number in either DAISY or BRF files to quickly move to a hymn or psalm. With this electronic edition you can either lead or participate in a hymn sing. If you read large print you should be able to magnify your screen to the 18-point type which was used in the paper edition. The hymn stanzas are in poetry style. Because of the DAISY markup for each psalm and hymn, you may find that the brf file contains a lengthy table of contents showing each psalm and each hymn. The foreign language hymns included are carefully produced so that they are accurate in the newer UEB Braille code.
