Résumé
A pang of malaise surprises the middle-aged solicitor, Robert Blair. He does not ponder the cause long before he receives a frantic call from Marion Sharpe. Scotland Yard is investigating a claim that she and her mother abducted and imprisoned… Betty Kane in their attic. As improbable as Miss Kane's story is, she describes the Sharpe home, the Franchise, in detail. Blair turns sleuth to investigate and, he hopes, to find justice. 1948.
