Résumé
While life in Communist Hungary isn't easy for thirteen-year-old Nelly and her family, it is still home. Nelly has great friends, and a boy she likes. But when the Hungarian Revolution begins in 1956 Nelly's life becomes much more difficult,… especially because Nelly's family is Jewish and anti-Semitism becomes much more prevalent after the Revolution starts. Nelly must leave behind everything she loves and flee the country with her family to begin a new life. Grades 5-8. 1996.
