Summary
It is 1970s Ottawa, and Jerry McGuinty, a young working class man with grand dreams, becomes successful and wealthy by building quality houses. Jerry's personal problems include a marriage to a free-spirited but alcoholic Irish woman, and a son who… eventually ends up on the streets. Simon Struthers is from old money, a career civil servant, a small time lothario, corrupt, smarmy, a voyeur and a stalker. His life intersects with Jerry's when he finds himself controlling land primed for development, and after stringing Jerry along for years, creating a project he hopes will be his legacy while damaging Jerry financially. Some descriptions of sex and violence, strong language. 2004.
