Step 2: Get it!

  1. Beneath the summary of the title, select DAISY (ZIP) in the Get it! options menu and then select the Get it! button.
  2. If you’re prompted to log in, enter your library account number and password, and select the Log in button.
  3. Select My account from the navigation menu.
    The My account page appears.
  4. Select Available ZIPs to download.
When the ZIP file becomes available, it will appear on screen.

  4. When the download is complete, find the file on your computer. Unless you changed it, the file name begins with the title of the book.

Tip: How to find the file you saved

Depending on your setup, the file might be saved automatically to the Downloads folder in My Documents. We recommend creating a new folder on your Desktop called CELA where you can save and find all of the books you download.

You can also search for the file:

  1. Go to the Start button on your desktop.
  2. Select Search.
  3. Search for the first words in the title: Heart berries.

Step 4: Play the book or transfer it to your device

The instructions for playing a DAISY .zip audio book on your computer or transferring it to a device vary depending on the software or device you use. Please read the instructions that came with your software or device. In the Help section of the site, you’ll find tutorials on some of the most popular types of devices.

Most software and devices will require you to unzip or extract the files from their package and save them in a regular folder before you can play or transfer the audio book.

To unzip a DAISY .zip book:

  1. Select and open the zip file on your computer.
  2. Go to the File menu.
  3. Select Open with and then Compressed (zipped) Folders.
Folder view will open, with a list of files.
  4. Select Extract all files.
  5. The Compressed (zipped) Folders wizard will open. Select Next.
  6. You’ll be prompted to enter a folder name. Ignore this and select Next.
The wizard will tell you that the files have been extracted.
  7. Select the check box to show the extracted files.
  8. Select Finished.
Folder view will open, with a list of files.
  9. Navigate up one level to find the folder with the title of the book.
This is the folder you’ll open in your software or transfer to your device.
