Summary
When Bill Chambers comes home from World War Two, missing a few fingers but more or less intact, he is just happy to be back living in Canada. From this moment the story of three generations of his family begins.… Each family member must live out their own destiny and accept the tragedies and triumphs that come with it. Bill tries to remain optimistic even when things begin to take a wrong turn.
