Résumé
Bewitched by the haunting violin she hears in the subway, MIT mathematician Leela-May Moore falls in love at first listen with mysterious musician Mishka Bartok. A series of terrorist bombings which overlap disappearances by Mishka cause Leela to tail her… lover, only to be snatched off the street and interrogated by members of a shadowy private security force. Their leader is Cobb Slaughter, who has loved/loathed her since their blighted childhoods in South Carolina. Is Cobb simply tormenting Leela, or could Mishka really be a terrorist?
