À l'été 2001, un squelette apparaît à l'orée d'un petit bois, à quelques pas de l'Hôpital Royal Victoria à Montréal. Une enquête samorce, qui deviendra une quête : découvrir l'identité de cette femme morte sans bruit. Mais toutes les pistes… mènent à l'impasse ; celle qu'on a baptisée madame Victoria continue d'attendre que quelqu'un prononce son nom. Aujourd'hui, la fiction prend le relais. À partir d'une série de portraits de femmes, Catherine Leroux décline les vies potentielles de son héroïne avec une grande liberté. D'abord nettes comme le jour, ses hypothèses plongent de plus en plus loin dans l'imaginaire, comme des flèches filant vers un point où la mémoire et l'invention se confondent, vers un minuit où tout est possible, jusqu'au dernier souffle. 2015.
