Summary
After the death of his Irish wife, Mary, in childbirth, Phineas Finn resumes his political career in the House of Commons in London, though with considerably less zest than previously. Over time, he remarries, survives an attempt on his life,… and is acquitted of the murder of a rival politician, of which he had been falsely accused.
