It is summer 1915 and a rich New York widow, Mrs Jarvis, and her daughter, Clemency, are travelling to England. The girl is to marry the dashing Lord Hugo Hazzard and she has brought her personal maid, Hetty Brown, to… look after her. The two girls are alike in appearance and in fact, Hetty is her employer's half-sister and has many times 'stood in' for Clemency as a game.
