Certains crient, d'autres passent leur temps à aligner des objets. La plupart ne la regardent jamais dans les yeux. Agathe les trouve froids et détachés de la réalité et elle a l'impression de ne plus être chez elle dans sa propre maison. Jusqu'à l'arrivée de Victor. Lui, il est différent des autres. Différent dans le sens où il a l'air normal. Le jeune garçon est là plus longtemps que prévu, ce qui lui donne la chance d'apprendre à le connaître. Grâce à Victor, une chimie de groupe se développera et, petit à petit, Agathe s'ouvrira aux autres adolescents. Ils deviendront rapidement une bande tissée serrée. La cohabitation sera remplie d'embûches, car comprendre et respecter les différences de chacun ne sera pas toujours évident, mais au final, une solidarité à toute épreuve se développera entre les résidents. Au rendez-vous; romance, conflits, deuil et amitié. De plus, la narration alternera entre Agathe et Victor, ce qui permettra au lecteur de découvrir le point de vue d'une personne autiste.
