Homer ens atansa a…
The Sun Also Rises (Norton Critical Editions #0)

sound of modern American prose. Academic rigor and impeccable attention to detail are the hallmarks of the Norton Critical Edition, and this volume on The Sun Also Rises is no exception. In addition to the usual suspects of contemporary reviews and early criticism, this volume draws on an exceptional pool of resources and ancillary material to tell this novel’s story: biographical excerpts from the likes of Sylvia Beach and Harold Loeb, original expurgated text, epistolary exchanges with Max Perkins and F. Scott Fitzgerald, and hefty segments on expatriation, the bullfights, and Hemingway’s own literary influences. Add to this a generous sampling of new, exceptional criticism that speaks to a modern audience about issues of gender and sexuality and about race, and a wonderful, spirited introduction, and this critical edition edited by Michael Thurston becomes the definitive edition of Hemingway’s star-making novel and a necessary comprehensive guide for both teachers and students.” —Marc Dudley, North Carolina State University This Norton Critical Edition includes: The text of Ernest Hemingway's best-known novel. Introduction and explanatory footnotes by Michael Thurston. A rich selection of background and contextual materials carefully chosen to enhance the reader’s understanding of and appreciation for Hemingway’s prose style and his famous 1926 novel. her for the first time from the perspective of the Spanish novel. The crisis marked by the Revolution of 1868, the emancipation of the working woman and the labor demands of the incipient proletariat constitutes the spiritual atmosphere that involves the narrative world of this work. By Joanot Martorell. 2015
It is significant that among the romances burned by the priest in Don Quixote, Cervantes saved Amadís de Gaula, Palmerín…
de Inglaterra, and Tirant lo Blanc, which he calls "the best book in the world." Tirant lo Blanc was written at a time when the tradition of medieval knights was in decline, and by a writer-knight also somewhat anachronistic. The work has a modernist feel ages before the era of modernism came to be. This is evident in its dynamic characters, with both positive traits and defects, and its many breaks from the traditional narrative structure of heroic epics popular in its time. Tirant is a Breton who travels the world having exciting adventures as a knight, but the story also contains a romantic element based on the hero's love of Carmesina, the emperor's daughter. The story has an abrupt ending in a style highly innovative for the western world at the time it was written. The Murder of Roger Ackroyd: A Hercule Poirot Mystery (The Hercule Poirot Mysteries #4)

By Homer. 2022
By Vicente Espinel. 2015
La vida del escudero Marcos de Obregón is more an adventure story than a picaresque work. His style moves away…
from the bombast of other works of the genre. The story is set in very different places (one scene features a captivity in Algeria). Espinel reflects on the lives of a class in decline in Spain at the time: the Christians of Islamic origin. The story also contains fascinating scenes concerning musical practices used in the Spanish court.El hechicero: El Bermejino Prehistorico, O Las Salamandras Azules (classic Reprint)

La vida del buscón
By Francisco de Quevedo y Villegas. 2015
